Andy Chrysostomou is a Reiki Master Teacher with over 21 years experience of practicing and teaching traditional Usui Reiki. Andy is also author of The Essence of Reiki, a definitive guide to Reiki healing. Andy came to Reiki after developing severe spondylosis of the spine. Andy was in incredible pain and was losing mobility in his arms and legs. The doctor informed him that the condition was degenerative and that he would eventually be crippled. He was offered surgery for when the condition deteriorated, but was told that there was a possibility that it would worsen the condition. Andy searched for an alternative to NSAIDS and ultimately surgery and discovered Reiki.
After taking a two day Reiki level 1 and 2 combined course and using Reiki for himself every day Andy was pain free and could live a normal life and train seven days a week, even undertaking martial arts on a regular basis. He has been teaching and practicing Reiki professionally since 2001 and has taught well over one thousand students this amazing healing therapy.
Andy very quickly after learning Reiki and using it for both himself and friends/family determined through experience and research reading online that Reiki coild be improved and optimsed to improve efficacy amd therefore healing outcomes. Andy worked diligantly to further develop Reiki as a healing therapy and created his Active Reiki Method (click here for more details) that uses appropriate intention and visualisation during the treatments to maximise the healing effects and improve outcomes.
Andy is currently a member of the Reiki Profession Specific Board (PSB) working with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) to provide expert advice on matters relating to professional standards in Reiki. Andy is a member of the Reiki Council UK.
